The Pendergasts were in a deep trauma and consulting a Christian psychologist when this demand letter was received. On the advice of the psychologist and others who had been abused in closed meetings with pastors and elders the Pendergasts responded as below.

Just a follow up clarification of the letter you received from the
elected elders this morning.

Ladies Time Out, Preschool Sunday School and Infusion Worship Service this
Thursday P.M. are area's where the letter requests that you withdraw your
participation in leadership or service until further notice.

The ministry leaders for these area's have been notified and are taking
appropriate steps to fulfill these responsibilities.

We look forward to your response with respect to meeting with us.
