| Faith in Arbitration?
The Pendergasts made it clear they had nothing to fear in allowing Rolly Lang, the mediator to arbitrate a fair settlement and the reintroduction to membership for the Pendergasts. This email was one of a number expressing the Pendergast's faith in Rolly Langs judgement.

Sorry to bombard you with notes but after feeling pretty sad about the elders response last week we have realised that this will take longer than we had anticipated and we will have to draw on more strength to cope with what we see as continued cruel behaviour and punishment being metered out by the elders. We suspect Jim Wallace is now directing operations again. Somehow they seem to feel that if they prolong our agony we will go away.
We continue to have faith in Rolly Langs ability to get to the centre of the problems.
We continue to hope that we can have Rolly help facilitate a reconciliation but if necessary we are happy for him to arbitrate a series of decisions on the our membership, our costs, and what evidence was presented to the elders that would prevent our return to active service immediately. What damage was done to our reputation by the elders actions?
We suggest that we book 2 consecutive days of Rollys time (sometime after the 17th Feb). On day one we deal with the restoration of our membership and whether the elders and SCCC are liable for our costs. On day two deal with what evidence was given by Wallace, Cumberlin and others that prevents our return to active service. Also what is required to restore our reputation? What if any discipline is required for the elders and staff? We would also expect copies of all the evidence that was presented to the elders at their September 18th meeting ahead of time.
We further suggest that an interim statement is given to the congregation that states positively that the elders and the Pendergasts are working hard to restore the Pendergasts back to active membership and service. That they are working hard with a respected mediator to achieve this.
