| The Request For Costs
3rd February 2006 The Pendergasts believed that the elders and church should take responsibility for the costs incurred. At no point to date have the Elders presented any evidence that warranted the kind of abusive action they, the pastors and minsitry leaders inflicted on the Pendergasts for a year, Although they mediator said he would deal with this later it was never discussed. In any case there was only one meeeting with the mediator (now Moderator), the Pendergasts and the elders. The Pendergasts still believe the church must be held responsible for all costs including medical. They also consider the church is in breach of contract for unfairly taking away 10 years of financial and countless hours invested in many ministries. It addition it should be noted that Elder Richard Woodman had the opportunity to freshly review the status of the dispute on his return from holiday in 2003. Additionally at the time of this letter it was unknown that the chair of the elders, Kevin Phillip, Pastors Wallace & Cumberlin had lied about the evidence presented to elders on the 18th September 2003 that resulted in the discipline metered out to the Pendergasts in their absence and without a chance to respond. Phillips had apparently left out critical evidence. Why? ; nor did Phillips agree that Ron Berg, the Executive Director of North American Baptist conference had spoken to him as Chairman of the Elders & Pastor Jim Wallace soon after Ron had met with Barry on October 2nd 2003. Ron Berg had insisted the Elders go to mediation as the Pendergasts had requested from the outset. Of course no discipline was taken against Phillips, Wallace or Cumberlin nor was the congregation informed of these deliberate attempts to blacken the reputation and spiritual committment of the Pendergasts. The Pendergasts continue to make a reuest for full payment of all costs incurred. |
